Kate comes from a long line of barbers and stylists, going back generations. Hair's more than just a family tradition for Kate: it's her passion.
As a young girl, Kate was first introduced to styling through her grandmother. Years later, Kate continued her training in California, where she completed cosmetology school and earned her certification, winning a number of styling prizes in the process.
Kate's most inspired by high fashion, and translates that into an everyday hairstyle that's stylish, confidence-boosting, yet easy to wear. She listens to her client's needs, and together they discover the right cut and color for the individual.
She excels at short precision cuts like pixies and bobs. She also specializes in cutting curly hair. She enjoys using hair-color to enhance her client's cut and skin tone using a hand painting technique for customized highlights.
When Kate's not at Salon 29, she's out exploring Portland. She also expresses her creativity through crafting, sewing, and baking delicious treats.
